British Open 2026 at Royal Birkdale features top contenders and U.S. TV coverage

The 154th Open Championship will be held from July 16‑19, 2026 at Royal Birkdale in Southport, England. The tournament, the final major of the year, will showcase leading golfers including World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler (USA), Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), Tommy Fleetwood (England), Wyndham Clark (USA), Jon Rahm (Spain), Justin Rose (England), Chris Gotterup (USA) and Xander Schauffele (USA).

In the United States, NBC Sports will air the event across NBC, USA Network, Peacock and the revived NBCSN. Early‑round coverage will be simulcast on Peacock and NBCSN, while weekend play moves to NBC and Peacock. The Golf Channel will provide a studio show throughout the week, and supplemental highlights will stream for free on the R&A TV and The Open app. Viewers can also watch via antenna, Peacock Premium or streaming services such as Sling TV, though some providers (e.g., Frndly TV, Philo) do not carry the required channels.
