British Open women's cut: Czech Sára Kousková advances, Slovak Pia Babnik shares 37th
Czech golfer Sára Kousková secured a place in the final stages of the Women’s British Open after a birdie on the 18th hole of the second round. Her round of eight strokes under par moved her from +12 to +4, tying her with 13 other players at 55th place and earning the cut at Royal Lytham & St Annes.
Slovakian rookie Pia Babnik, playing her first major, finished the opening round tied for 37th with a one‑over‑par score. The tournament’s first‑day leader was Thailand’s Jeeno Thitikul, who posted a record‑low 64, seven under par. Other top performers included South Korea’s Haeran Ryu, Japan’s Shiho Kuwaki, and Americans Yealimi Noh and Nelly Korda.
The event, held on England’s western coast, featured a $10 million purse and attracted leading players from the United States, South Korea, Japan, Thailand and Europe.
