British Royal Family Faces Dual Scandals Over Prince Andrew Probe and Security Agent Misconduct

British police have opened a new investigation into Prince Andrew, focusing on alleged sharing of confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein and possible sexual misconduct. Thames Valley Police issued a public appeal for witnesses and evidence, expanding on earlier allegations that led to a civil settlement with Virginia Giuffre in 2022. The royal family is reported to be deeply concerned that further revelations could damage the monarchy’s reputation.

Separately, more than twenty royal protection officers have been placed under investigation for alleged misconduct, including failing to remain on duty and mishandling weapons. Twenty‑three agents were notified, with twenty‑one suspended and the remaining two restricted from assignments at Buckingham Palace and other royal residences. The inquiry, overseen by the Metropolitan Police’s Professional Standards Directorate, follows earlier concerns at Windsor Castle and includes comments from commander Adam Slonecki warning of heightened security threats.

Both investigations highlight internal challenges facing the British monarchy as it confronts scrutiny over the conduct of senior members and the effectiveness of its protective services.
