British teacher on trial for alleged baby murder in Blackpool; prosecution challenges account

Jamie Varley, 37, is on trial in Blackpool, facing murder and 25 other charges related to alleged sexual and physical mistreatment of 13-month-old Preston Davey at a Blackpool home.

Prosecutors told the jury that Varley's explanation of Preston Davey's death "didn't seem to add up" and that Varley "maintained an account that purported to accept responsibility for the inadvertent exposure of Preston to harm by leaving him unattended in the bath."
