British tourists report sexual assaults in Zakynthos and Crete

Police in Zakynthos are investigating allegations that two 18-year-old British tourists were raped by a man working in the local tourism sector. The victims sought medical attention at a local hospital following the reported attacks. One victim's mother reportedly traveled to Greece and confronted the suspect at his workplace, leading to police intervention.

Separate incidents involving British tourists have been reported in Crete. In July, an 18-year-old woman alleged she was sexually assaulted by a 50-year-old security guard in Malia. Local police identified and arrested the suspect, a resident of the Heraklion area.

In a third incident occurring in June, an 18-year-old woman reported being raped by a 19-year-old British tourist in a bar restroom in Malia. The suspect was arrested and referred to the Heraklion court. The individual has reportedly denied the allegations, claiming the encounter was consensual.
