British woman abandons law career to live in Nepal jungle
Madeleine Jaye, a 25-year-old from Nottingham, has transitioned from studying law in Sheffield to living a simplified life near the jungle in Nepal. After meeting her husband, Ram, at a traditional momo cooking class, Jaye decided to forgo a high-paying legal career to live near Pokhara.
Living without modern amenities such as hot water, refrigerators, or washing machines, Jaye spends her time swimming, fishing, and hiking. She reports that the lifestyle has significantly reduced her stress levels. Due to the low cost of living in Nepal, where her monthly expenses average approximately 300 to 360 euros, she has been able to save enough money to purchase a home in Yorkshire, UK, valued between 170,000 and 200,000 euros.
