Britt McHenry appointed as U.S. State Department press advisor

Britt McHenry, a former ESPN reporter and media commentator, has joined the Trump administration as a press advisor at the U.S. Department of State. McHenry confirmed the appointment via social media, stating she is “beyond excited” to apply her 17 years of experience in journalism and television to the country’s highest diplomatic agency.

Her role will focus on communications and media strategy rather than serving as the official spokesperson. The spokesperson position is currently held by Tommy Pigott. McHenry’s background includes work at WJLA-TV, ESPN, and more recently, contributions to The Spectator and Real America’s Voice. Her appointment aligns with the administration's focus on reshaping public messaging across government agencies.
