In an Instagram post, Stewart reflected on their partnership, stating, “What we created together was bigger than how many weeks we were given to create it.” She thanked Hanson for his authenticity and trust, noting that the experience would impact her life in significant ways. Stewart, who made history as the show’s first Black female professional dancer in 2020, also expressed gratitude to fans for their support following the exit.

The elimination surprised many viewers, as the pair had not received the lowest score of the week, earning an 18 out of 30 for their foxtrot. Hanson expressed his gratitude during his final interview on the show, stating that Stewart had shown him things he did not think were possible.
