Brittany Hudson sentenced to 16 years for $9.4M Amazon fraud

Brittany Hudson, an Atlanta woman, has been sentenced to 16 years and three months in federal prison for her role in a massive fraud scheme that defrauded Amazon of approximately $9.4 million.

Between January and June 2022, Hudson and her partner, Kayricka Wortham, exploited Amazon’s vendor system by creating fake vendor profiles and submitting over 1,000 fraudulent invoices for goods and services that were never provided. Wortham and another Amazon-based co-conspirator approved these sham accounts and invoices, allowing the funds to be transferred to bank accounts controlled by the group.

Hudson was convicted in March on 30 felony counts, including wire fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy. Prosecutors also noted that while out on bond, Hudson attempted to defraud another company by forging a federal judge’s signature. The stolen funds were used to purchase luxury items, including a nearly $1 million home in Smyrna and high-end vehicles such as a Lamborghini Urus.
