Brittany Packnett Cunningham addresses racial justice and grand jury decisions
Activist and Campaign Zero co-founder Brittany Packnett Cunningham has addressed several pressing racial justice issues, including the grand jury decision regarding the death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells. Cunningham criticized the decision not to file charges, suggesting that the system is failing to protect the truth despite available evidence.
Cunningham also commented on corporate accountability following a controversy involving Nike and Converse regarding imagery in advertisements. She argued that brands profiting from Black culture must be held responsible for the impact of their marketing.
Additionally, she advocated for anti-lynching legislation that classifies such acts as anti-Black hate crimes, invoking the legacy of Ida B. Wells. She also highlighted the legal efforts surrounding Karmelo Anthony, noting that Black lawyers have united to support his case.
