Brittany region reports roadworks in Brest and vehicle fires in Quimper
Several local incidents and infrastructure projects are affecting the Brittany region. In Brest, multiple road closures are scheduled between September 28 and October 5, 2026. These works include electrical network renewals on Rue Robespierre, road adjustments on Rue de Kervezennec, and maintenance on the Pont de Recouvrance, which will involve nighttime closures from 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Other projects involve water and sanitation network updates on Rue Algésiras and Rue Anatole-France, as well as various road redevelopments across several streets.
In Quimper, a significant vehicle fire occurred on the morning of Saturday, September 26, in the Penhars district. Four vehicles, including three cars and one utility vehicle, caught fire on Rue du Maine, producing a large plume of black smoke. Firefighters responded to the scene at 9:13 a.m., utilizing a fire engine and six personnel to extinguish the flames while police secured the area.
