Brixen hosts Bavarian-Austrian Dialectology Conference

The 16th Bavarian-Austrian Dialectology Conference is currently taking place at the Free University of Bozen's Brixen campus. Titled ‘Dialect and Multilingualism’, the event focuses on the relationship between dialect and both internal and external multilingualism, specifically examining these dynamics within educational institutions.

The conference program includes various presentations on linguistic morphology, semantics, and the socio-symbolic functions of language in the Alpine region and Austria. Topics range from the morphology of Bavarian dialects to the impact of language settings on identity and student success.
