Brčko district deemed vital for Bosnia's development and EU transport links
At a working meeting of the HDZ BiH organization for the Brčko district, chaired by Anto Domić and attended by party president Dragan Čović and deputy chair Darijana Filipović, the leaders stressed the district’s strategic importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s overall political, economic and European integration agenda. Filipović highlighted the need for coordinated action across all levels of government to advance development priorities, protect the interests of the Croatian community and support the country’s EU path.
The participants pointed to specific infrastructure projects – notably the construction of the Brčko‑Gunja bridge and the planned highway corridor through the district – as key to improving transport connectivity, regional economic growth and the district’s role in wider European transport corridors. The meeting also addressed preparations for the October general elections and the continued institutional support for Brčko’s development plans.
