Brünig Mega Safe builds Alpine underground vaults for high-value assets

Brünig Mega Safe is constructing a massive underground complex in the Brünig massif near Lungern, Switzerland, designed to provide ultra-secure storage for high-net-worth individuals. Led by chairman Thomas Gasser, the project aims to create a network of approximately 20 to 25 reinforced vaults buried under more than 100 meters of rock.

The facility is intended to house high-value assets including fine art, precious metals, vintage wine collections, and luxury vehicles. Some of the largest vaults are expected to be comparable in size to a football field. The natural underground temperature of approximately 13°C provides an ideal environment for sensitive items like wine and art.

To ensure maximum security, the complex will feature strict access controls, including airlocks and multiple security checkpoints. The company offers 99-year lease contracts for these cavities, with starting prices near one million Swiss francs. Gasser noted that increasing international instability has driven demand for such heritage refuges as clients seek to safeguard their wealth.
