Brønnøy Teachers' Union seeks better recruitment for contact teachers

The Norwegian Teachers' Union (Utdanningsforbundet) in Brønnøy is seeking solutions to improve the recruitment and retention of contact teachers at larger schools. Annlaug Ebbesen, the union's chief shop steward, emphasized that salary increases and time allocations are essential tools to make these responsibilities more attractive.

Ebbesen noted that the municipality should implement measures similar to those used for other professions facing recruitment challenges. She highlighted that local comparisons with neighboring municipalities are necessary, as teachers often live and work within this specific regional labor market.
