Brno animal shelters seek adopters amid rising pet numbers

Animal shelters in Brno and the South Moravian region are experiencing high occupancy levels, particularly with an influx of kittens. The Brno Municipal Police Animal Shelter is currently seeking permanent homes for several animals, including Paar, a friendly Czechoslovakian Wolfdog mix; Bruce, an energetic American Staffordshire Terrier mix requiring experienced owners; and Teddy, a seven-year-old dog known for being child-friendly but possessing a strong hunting instinct.

This surge in shelter arrivals coincides with the start of the school year. Observations suggest a trend where pets received as gifts during the summer months are being returned to shelters once the school term begins and the daily responsibilities of pet care become more demanding for children and families.
