Brno cinema Art reopens with Dolby Atmos as city hosts thought‑provoking summer film festival

The historic Kino Art in Brno’s Cihlářská street reopened on 24 April after a three‑month renovation that added Dolby Atmos sound and air‑conditioning. The venue will launch Christopher Nolan’s Odyssey on 16 July and schedule other premieres such as Spider‑Man: New Day, Backrooms, Toy Story 5 and Possession, each marked with a special Dolby‑Atmos label.

Meanwhile, the “Léto v Líšni” summer film programme began on 17 July in the historic courtyard of the Líšeň district. The festival’s theme, “Moment of rupture”, highlights subtle yet life‑changing moments. It opened with the Czech film Marťanské lodě, followed by screenings on work burnout, media ethics and artistic discipline, each accompanied by discussions with experts and live music. All events are free and aim to foster community dialogue around contemporary issues.
