Brno elections: STAN gains ground on ODS in recent polls

In Brno, the ODS party, which has held leadership through Mayor Markéta Vaňková, is transitioning its candidacy to Kamila Zlatušková. Critics have noted a lack of substantive focus in major party programs regarding climate change adaptation and pedestrian safety, despite recent heatwaves and traffic fatalities in the city.

Nationally, polling data from NMS Market Research and Median suggests STAN is gaining ground, potentially drawing voters from the former Spolu coalition. Analysts suggest this trend is driven by the fragmentation of the Spolu alliance and negative perceptions of the previous government, rather than a surge in core ideological support for STAN. While ODS faces declining numbers, smaller parties within the former coalition have yet to reach the 5% threshold required for election.
