Brno hosts 67th International Engineering Fair

The 67th International Engineering Fair has opened in Brno, Czech Republic, featuring 1,379 exhibitors from 39 countries. The event showcases advancements in automation, artificial intelligence, digital twins, and humanoid robotics, aiming to connect manufacturers, suppliers, and customers across the industrial supply chain.

During the opening, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš addressed the Association of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic, emphasizing that affordable energy is critical for industrial competitiveness. He criticized the EU's emission permit system, arguing it artificially inflates energy costs and weakens European industry compared to the United States, China, and India. Babiš noted that energy-intensive sectors, such as steel and chemicals, have seen significant production declines in the EU due to these costs, while asserting that the Czech Republic possesses the necessary know-how and workforce to lead in modern manufacturing technologies.
