Brnířov memorial chapel honors murdered doctor
A new memorial chapel has been established near Brnířov to honor a 28-year-old female doctor who was murdered two years ago. The victim was killed by a former colleague and former head of the Domažlice Hospital, who is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence.
The chapel, designed by architect Prokop Jirsy, is dedicated to Archangel Michael and Saint Luke, the patron saint of physicians. The structure features a crystal-like shape symbolizing uniqueness. The project was funded by public donations, with the family noting that while costs have exceeded the initial 700,000 CZK estimate, they remain committed to completing the memorial without compromise.
