Broadcaster Francis Méndez dies at 75

Francis Méndez, a prominent Dominican broadcaster, has passed away at the age of 75. Originally from Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic, Méndez spent over 40 years residing in New York, where he became a highly respected figure in Hispanic broadcasting.

Throughout a career spanning more than five decades, Méndez worked with notable stations such as Radio Guarachita in Santo Domingo and La Mega 97.9 FM in New York. He was particularly well known for his program ‘Señor Bolero’, which achieved top ratings according to Nielsen. Additionally, he served as an official voice for major television networks including Univisión and Telemundo.
