Broadcaster Pi expresses distress after acquittal in sexual molestation case

Internet broadcaster Pi (real name Kang Da-on), known for appearances on web variety shows such as ‘Money Game’ and ‘Game of Blood 2’, expressed extreme distress following a first-instance court ruling. The court acquitted a man, identified as A, of charges of quasi-forcible sexual molestation.

The incident reportedly occurred in September 2024. Pi claimed that while traveling to a hotel in a vehicle driven by a designated driver, the defendant took control of the vehicle and molested her. The defendant denied the allegations, stating he was merely following her out of concern due to her intoxication and that no physical contact occurred.

The court acknowledged that the defendant had taken over the vehicle after arriving at the hotel first, but ruled that there was insufficient objective evidence, such as dashcam footage, to confirm the specific actions that took place inside the car. Consequently, the defendant was found not guilty.

Following the verdict, Pi broadcasted her emotional distress on the SOOP platform. Her acquaintance, rapper Cerrigan May, shared messages on social media indicating Pi’s plea for justice and her ongoing psychological suffering resulting from the incident and the legal process.
