Brodsko-posavska County declares natural disaster due to drought

Danijel Marušić, the Prefect of Brodsko-posavska County, has officially declared a natural disaster due to drought. The declaration affects 26 municipalities and two cities within the county, including Slavonski Brod and Nova Gradiška.

The drought, caused by prolonged dry periods, high temperatures, and a lack of rainfall during June, July, and August, has caused significant material damage to various agricultural sectors. Affected areas include spring crops, subsequent crops, clover-grass mixtures, fish farming surfaces, and perennial plantations such as orchards and vineyards.

Affected individuals are instructed to report their damages in writing to the relevant municipal or city commissions using the prescribed forms within eight days of the decision. Local commissions are required to enter initial damage assessments into the Damage Register within 15 days, with final assessments to be submitted to the county commission within 50 days.
