Bromley named among UK's best locations for elderly residents

A study by Lovett Care has identified several London boroughs as top locations in the UK for elderly residents. Bromley ranked 11th out of 294 districts nationally, performing strongly in categories including health, housing, and transport. Notably, Bromley ranked second in London for accessibility without a car and holds the capital's second-best provision of railway stations. Health metrics for Bromley include a life expectancy at age 65 that is 21.5 years above average.

Richmond upon Thames secured second place among London boroughs, ranking 18th nationally. It achieved the highest scores in the capital for environment, community, and safety, with the lowest reported loneliness rates in London. Sutton followed as the third-best London borough, noted for having the fastest GP appointment turnaround in the capital and high marks from the Care Quality Commission. Merton and Kingston upon Thames also placed within the top five London boroughs identified in the study.
