Broniszewo church recognized for artistic heritage

The church in Broniszewo, located in the Wierzbinek municipality, is gaining recognition for its artistic value, often being compared to the ‘small St. Mary’s Basilica’ due to its interior. The sanctuary houses significant polychromes and a Way of the Cross created by painter Antoni Szulczyński.

Efforts are underway to preserve the memory of Szulczyński, whose works are also found in Wilczyn, Skulsk, and Kramsk. Filmmaker Krzysztof Paluszyński, whose film about the artist was nominated at the 27th Polish Film Festival Los Angeles, is playing a key role in this cultural revival. Local authorities are also preparing for celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of Szulczyński’s birth.
