Bronx deli arson attack leaves worker with severe burns

A 33-year-old worker sustained severe burns after a Molotov cocktail was thrown into a deli in the Fordham Heights section of the Bronx on Tuesday night. The attack occurred around 10:10 p.m. on West 183rd Street near Jerome Avenue.

Surveillance footage captured the moment the storefront ignited, showing at least one figure in the doorway. According to a relative of the victim, a group of juvenile suspects may have been involved in the attack. Law enforcement sources indicated the suspect might be an acquaintance of the victim, though the individual fled on foot and remains at large.

The victim was transported to Jacobi Medical Center, where he is reported to be in serious but stable condition. The fire prompted a second-alarm response and took approximately one hour to extinguish.
