Bronx laundromat shooting targets mother and teenage son

A 17-year-old boy and his 37-year-old mother were shot during what investigators believe was a targeted attack at the Astor Laundromat in the Allerton section of the Bronx on Monday evening.

Both victims were struck in the right leg during a burst of gunfire. They were transported to Jacobi Medical Center, where they were listed in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a man in his 20s, approximately 5-foot-6 tall. He fled the scene immediately following the shooting and had not been apprehended as of Tuesday. While police believe the gunman was specifically aiming for the mother and son, the motive for the attack remains unknown.
