A 37-year-old man, Jeffrey Jorge, has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in the Bronx. The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Davidson and West Tremont avenues in Morris Heights.

One victim, 32-year-old Rashaun Shettlewood, a paraprofessional for the New York City Department of Education, died from a stab wound to the chest. His 33-year-old friend was also stabbed in the torso and remains in stable condition at St. Barnabas Hospital.

Police stated the attack appeared to stem from a dispute, though the motive is still under investigation. Jorge, who was apprehended in Brooklyn with a knife, faces multiple charges including murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. Authorities noted that Jorge has 13 prior arrests, including a stabbing at the same location earlier this year.
