Brookfield entities report growth in renewable and infrastructure sectors
Brookfield Renewable Partners LP reported record funds from operations (FFO) of $421 million in the second quarter, marking a 13% increase. The company’s nuclear subsidiary, Westinghouse, saw a 60% increase in FFO, driven by rising demand for reactor life extensions, restarts, and newbuild programs.
Despite a 19% decline in stock price over the last four months, the company remains positioned to meet rising global electricity demand and energy grid infrastructure needs through solar, wind, hydro, and battery storage projects.
Separately, Brookfield Infrastructure Partners (BIP) reported a 10% year-over-year growth in FFO per unit and a 15% return on invested capital (ROIC). The company is advancing its AI infrastructure strategy, including a major data center project backed by the Department of Energy. BIP also plans a structural simplification to eliminate K-1 tax filings, which may increase institutional interest.
