Brookfield expands infrastructure footprint via India logistics and US data center deals
Brookfield Asset Management is expanding its global footprint through significant acquisitions in the logistics and data center sectors. In India, the firm has acquired a 10.5 million square foot industrial and logistics real estate portfolio from ESR India for Rs 4,300 crore. The portfolio includes eight Grade A industrial and logistics parks located across major metropolitan clusters, including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi NCR, Chennai, and Kolkata. This transaction establishes Brookfield as the third-largest logistics real estate player in India.
Simultaneously, Brookfield is advancing its AI infrastructure strategy in the United States by acquiring a minority interest in American Real Estate Partners (AREP). This move integrates Brookfield’s existing data center capabilities with AREP’s PowerHouse Data Centers platform, which manages a large-scale hyperscale development operation. The investment aims to connect data center campuses with essential requirements such as powered land, dedicated energy generation, and storage to support the growing demand for AI compute capacity.
