Brooklyn bodega cat reunited with owner after theft

Jabal, a three-month-old white kitten belonging to the 8th St. Mini Mart in Brooklyn, has been reunited with his owner, Imad Innab, following a neighborhood-wide search.

The kitten was snatched from the sidewalk outside the Park Slope bodega last Thursday by a man and a woman. Security footage captured the pair taking the animal, which led to a confrontation in Prospect Park by a local customer. Despite the confrontation, the individuals initially fled with the cat.

Following community pressure and the involvement of the NYPD, one of the accused individuals sent the kitten to the 78th precinct via a middleman. Police subsequently delivered Jabal back to Innab on Tuesday. Innab, who had previously offered a $500 reward for the cat's safe return, expressed deep gratitude to the police and the local community.
