Brooklyn Center collision kills young girl, injures another

A collision between a vehicle and a mini bike in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, has resulted in the death of one young girl and left another in critical condition. The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Thursday near the intersection of 63rd Ave N and Brooklyn Dr.

According to the Brooklyn Center Police Department, both occupants of the mini bike were girls under the age of 10. Preliminary investigations suggest the children were traveling eastbound on 63rd Ave N when they were struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Brooklyn Dr. First responders performed CPR at the scene before transporting both children to a hospital, where one girl was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with law enforcement. The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
