Brooklyn high school worker accused of sexual abuse in new lawsuit

A lawsuit filed in the Brooklyn Supreme Court alleges that Kevin Gilford Orr, a former worker at Canarsie High School, committed repeated sexual abuse against a student, Brittany Linton, beginning in 2005.

Linton claims the abuse occurred in empty rooms at the school when she was 15 years old. The lawsuit further alleges that the New York City Department of Education acted “carelessly, negligently, and recklessly” by ignoring and dismissing complaints regarding Orr’s behavior.

Orr has emphatically denied the allegations, characterizing the legal action as a “money grab” and claiming that Linton was at least 19 years old at the time of any alleged physical relationship.
