Brooklyn Nets face defensive concerns ahead of season opener

The Brooklyn Nets enter their regular season opener against Charlotte following a 3-1 preseason record marked by significant defensive inconsistency. While the team's offense performed well, coaches and players expressed concern regarding their defensive identity.

Coach Jordi Fernández noted that the team fluctuated between being an aggressive, ball-pressure unit and struggling with transition defense and rim protection. Despite ranking among the league leaders in forcing turnovers, the Nets finished the preseason with the second-worst opponent field goal percentage at .498.
