Brooklyn Nets weigh Michael Porter Jr.'s contract and possible roster upgrades

Michael Porter Jr., who signed a five‑year extension with the Denver Nuggets in 2022, is entering the final year of that deal while playing for the Brooklyn Nets. The franchise is also reportedly exploring the acquisition of two‑time All‑NBA big man Domantas Sabonis from the Sacramento Kings. Sabonis would join Julius Randle and Porter Jr. to address the Nets' lack of a true rim protector, despite defensive limitations. The team’s first‑round 2027 draft pick is owned by the Houston Rockets, reducing any incentive to tank.
