Brooklyn police seek video after runner stabbed during training
The New York Police Department is seeking assistance from the public, specifically drivers with vehicle cameras such as Tesla or Uber, to help identify an assailant who stabbed a runner in Brooklyn. The victim, 28-year-old Katie Suarez, was attacked on October 30 near Shore Parkway and Bay 17th Street in the Bath Beach neighborhood while training for the New York City Marathon.
Investigators believe the attack may have been random, as Suarez’s phone and personal belongings were left untouched. Suarez was found severely injured by her father after she failed to arrive at a family meeting. She remains on life support in a hospital.
Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Police have utilized canine units, drones, and diving teams to assist in the investigation.
