Brooklyn woman arrested for attempted kidnapping of 4-year-old

Chrissy Payne, 47, has been arrested following an attempted kidnapping of a 4-year-old boy in Brooklyn. The incident occurred outside a McDonald’s on Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights, where the suspect allegedly snatched the child from his 66-year-old grandmother.

The child’s mother, Anyia James Roberts, an off-duty police officer, intervened during the struggle to reclaim the boy. According to family members, the suspect engaged in a physical tug-of-war with the grandmother before being stopped. No injuries were reported during the encounter.

Payne, a resident of Flatlands, faces charges of attempted kidnapping and endangering the welfare of a child.
