Japan launches seasonal Halloween and autumn-themed dining and retail events

Various Japanese establishments are launching seasonal autumn and Halloween-themed offerings.

Hotel New Otani Hakata will host a two-day Halloween buffet on October 30 and 31, 2026, featuring over 30 types of sweets, including three varieties of Mont Blanc made from Japanese chestnut, purple sweet potato, and pumpkin.

In Tokyo, Ginger Garden AOYAMA is collaborating with Sanrio for a Hello Kitty themed afternoon tea from September 28 to November 27, 2026. The menu includes a Hello Kitty mousse and themed parfaits. Meanwhile, Tokyo Disney Resort is offering a wide range of Halloween-themed merchandise, including headbands, bags, and seasonal snacks.

In Shinjuku, Aquarium Dining Shinjuku Lime is introducing a Black Rose themed Halloween afternoon tea starting September 26, featuring sweets made with seasonal ingredients like pumpkin and grape.

Additionally, Kyoto-based SCENE FACTORY COFFEE ROASTERS has launched a coffee subscription service. The October installment focuses on a comparison of three different Ethiopian coffee varieties.
