Brother Industries develops compact multi-task machine with 64-tool capacity

Brother Industries has developed the SPEEDIO M300Xd2-64T, a compact multi-task machine capable of holding 64 tools. This is reportedly the first model in its class with a #30 spindle to feature such a high tool capacity.

To accommodate the increased number of tools within a compact frame, the machine utilizes a dual-storage design: a 21-tool magazine at the front and a 43-tool stocker positioned at a 90-degree angle. This configuration aims to address the growing industry demand for high-mix, low-volume production in sectors such as automotive, semiconductor, aerospace, and medical manufacturing, where reducing tool changeover times is critical for productivity.

The company plans to showcase the technology at several major international exhibitions, including the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago, AMB2026 in Germany, and JIMTOF2026 in Japan.
