Brouhaha Entertainment receives funding for Dr Trauma series
Screen Australia and US-based Dynamic Television have selected the psychological thriller and medical drama Dr Trauma as the latest recipient of the Dynamic Television Scripted Initiative. The project, developed by Sydney-based Brouhaha Entertainment, will receive a total of A$100,000 (US$70,000) in development funding, split equally between the two partners.
Written by bestselling author Sarah Bailey and produced by Troy Lum, the series follows Evie Salinger, a quantum psychologist. The plot centers on a mother seeking help for her daughter, who experiences terrifying visions following a heart transplant from a murder victim. The story is inspired by a true crime case where an organ recipient experienced visions that assisted investigators in solving a crime.
The initiative aims to support Australian scripted projects with international potential by providing both financial support and global industry insights.
