Brown & Brown forecasts $60 million impact from Howden talent war in 2026

Brown & Brown said the ongoing talent war with Howden could cost the insurer $50‑$60 million in 2026, up from a $31 million estimate made last quarter. CFO R. Andrew Watts told analysts that the figure reflects revenue losses from new and lost business as well as incentives.

The firm, based in Daytona Beach, Florida, reported second‑quarter revenue of $1.7 billion, a 30.4 % increase year‑over‑year, although organic revenue slipped 0.7 % to $1.176 billion. Net income rose 24.7 % to $288 million. CEO J. Powell Brown noted that property catastrophe (CAT) rates have fallen 15‑35 % and suggested that a major natural disaster with $100‑$150 billion in claims would be needed to stabilize the market.
