BRP Japan announces Can-Am Spyder recall and 2027 model launch
BRP Japan has filed a recall with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for 174 Can-Am Spyder three-wheeled vehicles. The recall affects four models: Spyder RT LTD, Spyder RT STS, Spyder F3 LTD, and Spyder F3 S, imported between March 19, 2025, and September 8, 2026.
A defect in the meter panel control program design may cause internal errors during communication with external devices. This could result in the loss of meter panel displays, such as the speedometer, or the failure of turn signals and hazard lights to operate. No accidents or malfunctions have been reported. BRP plans to address the issue via an Over-the-Air (OTA) software update that users can install themselves or through a dealership.
Separately, BRP Japan has announced a media event scheduled for November 11, 2026, at City Circuit Tokyo Bay to introduce the 2027 Can-Am Spyder lineup. The event will feature the Spyder RT Limited Sea-To-Sky, highlighting features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen and BRP GO! On-Road Navigation. Model and entertainer Mori Izumi is scheduled to attend and participate in a riding demonstration.
