Bruce Blakeman discusses relationship with Paul McCartney

Nassau County Executive and Republican candidate Bruce Blakeman has described the situation of his ex-wife, Nancy Shevell, being married to Paul McCartney as ‘a little surrealistic’.

Blakeman, who was married to Shevell for 23 years, noted that while he and the former Beatle hold divergent political views, they have an agreement to never discuss politics. Blakeman is a supporter of Donald Trump, whereas McCartney has publicly criticized the former president and expressed concerns regarding American politics and climate change.

Despite their different outlooks, Blakeman characterized McCartney as a ‘nice guy’ and noted that he serves as a good stepfather to Blakeman’s son, Arlen. McCartney and Shevell married in London in 2011.
