Bruce Blakeman Secures Puerto Rico Governor's Endorsement in New York Gubernatorial Race

Puerto Rico Governor Jennifer González‑Colón publicly endorsed Republican Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman in his campaign to unseat incumbent Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul in New York. The endorsement was announced at a strategy meeting that also included cryptocurrency entrepreneur Brock Pierce, who has contributed $143,000 of his own money to Blakeman‑related political efforts and pledged to help raise up to $40 million for Republican initiatives.

González‑Colón and Blakeman discussed plans to stimulate economic growth, boost tourism, improve public safety, and expand GOP outreach to Hispanic communities, especially the more than one million Puerto Ricans living in New York, 70% of whom reside in the city’s five boroughs. Blakeman hopes the endorsement will help narrow the double‑digit polling gap with Hochul.

The meeting highlights the growing focus of Republican candidates on Latino voters and the role of high‑profile donors in state elections.
