Bruce Dickinson announces new solo music and aviation retirement

Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson has announced plans for a new solo album, which he describes as being among the best work of his career. He noted that the material is a step above his 2024 release, ‘The Mandrake Project’, and will be supported by a tour next year. Dickinson also teased upcoming surprises involving Iron Maiden, stating that band members, including bassist Steve Harris, are supportive of his new solo material.

Separately, Dickinson is retiring from his career as a commercial pilot due to international aviation age limits. This marks the end of the ‘Ed Force One’ era, the aircraft used for the band’s logistics. Moving forward, Iron Maiden intends to move away from using massive private aircraft for tours in an effort to drastically reduce their carbon footprint and align with sustainable industry practices.
