Bruce Highway bridge upgrades near Gladstone complete
Upgrades to the Station Creek and Boyne River bridges near Benaraby, south of Gladstone, have been completed as part of the Bruce Highway Upgrade Program. The works focused on improving structural integrity and safety through concrete and steel repairs, cracked deck repairs, and barrier fixes.
The project was jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, with the federal government contributing $11.04 million and the state government providing $2.76 million. Officials noted that the improvements are intended to benefit motorists, regional communities, and freight operators traveling between Gympie and Cairns.
