Bruce Springsteen revealed that his wife, singer‑songwriter Patti Scialfa, is in remission from multiple myeloma, a rare blood cancer diagnosed in 2018. The announcement was made in a video message delivered at the Pan‑Mass Challenge, a charitable cycling event that raises funds for the Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

Springsteen, 76, praised the doctors, nurses and researchers who cared for Scialfa over eight years, saying the experience taught him that “medical research is not politics.” He emphasized that research provides hope for families facing cancer and urged continued support for the institute’s work.
