Bruce Springsteen Announces Wife Patti Scialfa in Cancer Remission

Patti Scialfa, 73, the guitarist and vocalist of the E Street Band and wife of rock legend Bruce Springsteen, has entered remission after eight years of battling multiple myeloma, a rare blood cancer diagnosed in 2018. Springsteen disclosed the update in a pre‑recorded video shown at the Pan‑Mass Challenge fundraiser for the Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute in Massachusetts. He said, “As you know, Patti’s been living with her multiple myeloma for over eight years, but now, thankfully, she is in remission.” He also thanked the doctors and nurses, noting that “hope has a face.” The announcement was made during the virtual event on August 1, 2026, and highlighted the importance of cancer research. The couple, married since 1991, have three children and continue to support the Dana‑Farber cause.
