Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music opens at Monmouth University

The Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music has opened at Monmouth University in Long Branch, New Jersey. The 30,000-square-foot facility, designed by COOKFOX Architects, serves as a cultural landmark dedicated to the history of American music and the work of Bruce Springsteen.

Approximately 20,000 square feet of the building are dedicated to exhibits. The center features the Springsteen archives and rotating exhibits that cover various genres, including country, classical, hip-hop, folk, and sacred music. The inaugural exhibit, ‘Chimes of Freedom: Protest, Patriotism, and the Power of Song,’ examines the role of protest music in American history.

In addition to Springsteen-related content, the collection includes diverse artifacts ranging from 18th-century instruments to contemporary stage outfits worn by artists such as Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Elvis Presley. The facility also includes a 240-seat auditorium for concerts, lectures, and video screenings, as well as gallery spaces for research and education.
