Bruchköbel removes old clothing collection containers

The city of Bruchköbel has announced the removal of all old clothing collection containers throughout its municipal area. Local authorities stated that the decision follows a significant increase in the volume of low-quality textiles, primarily composed of synthetic fibers, which has made the collection process economically unviable.

In addition to poor-quality textiles, officials reported an increase in heavily soiled, damaged, or broken clothing being disposed of in the containers, as well as non-textile household waste. This has led to overflowing bins and litter accumulation in the surrounding areas.

Citizens can still dispose of clean, intact, and wearable clothing at the DRK location on Hauptstraße 75 or at the recycling center on Röntgenstraße. Mayor Sylvia Braun advised that damaged clothing should be disposed of in regular household waste bins.
